"There are three things all men should aspire to be," our guide said sagely, eyes a-glint. "First: a hero. Everyone loves heroes, and surely there is nothing better that a man can be.
"Second: a poet. A man must be able to use beautiful words to tell the world his stories.
"And finally," he said in gleeful anticipation, "A man must be an alcoholic. For after five pints of beer, all men become great poets!"
