Seljalandsfoss wasn't the highest nor the most powerful waterfall we visited in Iceland, but it was certainly one of the most memorable and beautiful.
It's charm lies in the fact that you can take a walk behind it, into a little rocky enclave, from which you get the most amazing view of the waterfall against a carpet of green, stretching uninterrupted into the horizon. All around, there are little brooks that trickle their way through the meadows. The lushness bursts into life everywhere you look - through the thousands of tiny yellow flowers that dot the ground and the perpetual rainbow that hangs just out of reach.
