Went for a 20km blading marathon today along the East Coast-Changi Park Connector. The roads were deserted today, though littered with treacherous twigs, so I was fortunate in that no one saw me flailing.
Brought along a haversack of drinks, snacks, a book and a camera. There were tons of picturesque spots along the trail available for little breaks, and with no one else for miles around (save for the one guy who cycled by and laughingly asked me why I was snapping away), it was the most fun I've had in a while.
Besides the fact that it was a weekday, I suppose not many people know about this trail too; it was so secluded that a bunch of guys I bumped into offered to escort me back to ECP.
I also liked how everyone was so friendly -- from cyclists to joggers to rollerbladers, everyone said "hi"/struck up conversation in passing.
Another day off tomorrow -- am flip-flopping between reading at the airport and exploring yet another corner of Singapore on blades.

u should blade to harbourfront, and then to alexandra =)
anyway the path on the 7th last picture looks really nice! its such skies i look at longingly everytime i look out from the staircase-- (where i have stopped frequenting).
no no, i'm not pro enough that i can blade properly on the sidewalk! tiring business to avoid the drains and pedestrians. besides, i'll get lost. then who's gonna pay for my cab fare?
as for the latter part of your comment -- guess what? the weather's better today, and guess what? i think i'm gonna go play some basketball!
hey I think yr shots are not bad ! ((: I particularly like to see scenery shots, so I guess yr "..egoistical notion" is fairly true. heh. :P
looking good and very healthy :D
3 jobs?
Cycled that route a few times. Home, looping around to Tampines, then back. I agree, the scenery is nice and much of the route deserted, but I suspect people acted friendly because either
1. You looked lost
2. You looked exploitable
=P
jaslyn: haha thanks! (: for some reason my pictures look better smaller though, so i had to make sure to minimize all of them. heh.
amanda: thanks! and yes, 3 jobs :( i'm tired out!
bah: i actually hope that route stays deserted! right now i like blading to a certain quiet spot and reading on the beach. fun stuff. and i'm sure i look purposeful and tough, thank you very much!
Sure, sure, keep telling yourself that. You're welcome.
hey at least it's windy, right? last time i went 24km route march with the medical officers, i got tired from the wiping my perspiration! hahak. some parts lah. not all. the coast areas are particularly windy. those places i like i like! maybe we should go there. i cycle (cause i can't blade for nuts) and you rollerblade? kakakaka
